Looking For A Quality Pre-Owned Compact…These Three Vehicles Are A Must!

January 19th, 2010

Three available optoins for used cars that are very inexpensive, are the Chevrolet Cavalier, the Honda Civic, and the Pontiac Sunfire. All three of these cars were manufactured for many years and have different models available. If you´re looking for something reasonably priced one of these three cars could be the right option for you. If you´re looking for a used model of any of these three cars it´s best to do research on important factures such as safety, reliability, common problems with certain models, resale prices, and the quality of the parts used to make the car. There are also many GM repair manuals to help you through routine maintenance and fixing older models of these cars.

The Chevrolet Cavalier was manufactured by General Motors between 1980 and 2005. Through all of the years that this vehicle was manufactured, it only went through one major change, in 1995 when the second generation was launched. The Cavalier was very popular and one of Chevrolets most sold cars between those cars because of the low price and the ease of repairs with a Chevrolet Cavalier Chiltons Manual. Although the Chevrolet Cavalier is a very affordable car and is known to handle well, there are many disadvantages to this car that could lead drivers to choose another competitive car at a higher price. The Cavalier is not known for being a very safe car. In most crash tests it recieved a low rating. Also, this car was made with very low quality parts, and the seats are not comfortable. Along with the seats not being very good in the interior, the whole interior is not very high quality. A few advantages that the Chevrolet Cavalier has are it´s great fuel economy, and in later models it comes available with Chevrolet´s OnStar service and XM radio. If you´re looking for something that is going to be high quality, than the Chevrolet Cavalier is not the car for you.

The Pontiac Sunfire is was also manufactured by General Motors between 1995 and 2005. This car was only ever made in one generation and never offered any complete upgrade. This car was made very cheap and is not reliable at all. Safety ratings for the Pontiac Sunfire were always low and the materials used both in the interior and exterior of the car are very inexpensive and it looks that way. The seats are also very uncomfortable in this car. A few advantages that this car does have are an OK engine, later models it comes available with OnStar, and most maintenence is easy with a Pontiac Sunfire Service Manual. After 2003 the Pontiac Sunfire was equipped with a better engine than previous years. If you´re looking for a used car, it is not recommended that you buy the Pontiac Sunfire because of it´s very low quality.

The Honda Civic was first manufactured in 1973 and it continues to be a very popular car today. This car thrives in fuel economy, performance, and all around reliability. If you´re looking for a Honda Civic you have a very good chance of finding exactly what you want because this car is offered in a lot of different models to give you the choice of what you want in your car. The Honda Civic is a very smart choice for a used car because it is all around good quality, a very affordable car and repairs only require a quality Haynes Honda Civic Manuall. Many consumers have chosen this car for many years and there are very few complaints about style, quality and performance.

If you´re looking for a good used car that you can maintain with a quality automotive repair manual, your best bet between these three is the Honda Civic. The Chevrolet Cavalier and the Pontiac Sunfire are not very good quality cars in their class.

The Zenki and Chuki

December 27th, 2009

Japanese car manufacturer Nissan introduced a compact automobile called the 240SX to the northern US market in 1988.  This automobile was made to substitute the S12 model, which was going to be dropped.  All versions of the 240SX that were available till the last were rolled off in 1998 had inline four engines with 2.4 litre capacity.  Of the a decade that this two-door compact was manufactured, 2 generations were distinguished – the S13, supplied for the 1989 to 1994 model years and the S14, from 1995 to 1998.  The second generation was based primarily on the S platform of Nissan, which was also the base for other Nissan automobiles like the Silvis and 180SX ( for the Japanese market ) and the 200Sx ( for the EU market ).  All 240SX vehicles were manufactured in the Kyushu, Japan plant of Nissan.

The 1st generation of the 240SX had two different variants : the Zenki and Chuki.  These variants came in hatch and coupe body styles.  The hatchback was offered in base, SE and LE trims, while the coupe came in base, SE and XE trims.  The body was styled with a front that’s sloping and headlights that retract.  This set the 240SX apart from the Silvia, which had fixed headlights.  As for the two variants, the Zenki ( which means’early period’ ) was sold for the 1989 and 1990 model years.  The Chuki ( which literally means’middle period’ ) was available from 1991 to 1994 and was updated vis the exterior and engine upgrades.  A convertible body style of the 240SX was introduced to the northern US market.  This was the only available model available in 1994, which was provided with a 4-speed automatic transmission.

A total redesigning of the first generation resulted to the second generation of the 240SX.  Only the coupe body style stayed, as the convertible and hatchback styles were curtailed in 1995.  This generation was also split into the Zenki and Kouki ( meaning’latter period’ ).  The Kouki period saw the 240SX having sharper features like the hood, projector headlights, front bumper and fenders.  The last of this model was manufactured in July of 1998.
