The Car Buyer Mistakes That Cost Big Bucks

February 23rd, 2010

I have pulled together ten of the most common car buying mistakes that people make. These simple mistakes are easy to avoid if you spend a little time thinking about your car purchase. Going over these mistakes that are often made by car buyers can help you to avoid car buying scams. Hopefully you can pick up some tips to avoid the mistakes many car buyers make and save some money.

#1 Going to the car dealer to buy a car before they do their homework. When you visit the car dealer before you research a car you might buy you get schooled by the salesman. The average car salesperson will not have your interests in mind. Their job is to sell you a car, not to teach you about buying a car.

#2 Not using the Internet to save time and money when buying a car. The Internet has a wealth of information for the car buyer. By spending some time online you can get prices quotes for different cars, insurance and financing. You can learn a lot about how to buy a new car online. You can save hours and even days by of time by using the Internet to do some comparison shopping.

#3 Leasing a car rather than buying a car because the payments are lower. There are certain advantages and disadvantages of leasing a car instead of buying a car. A big mistake is to lease a car because the monthly payments are lower than buying. Leasing a car requires you to consider other items that are not important if you are buying like over mileage charges.

#4 Not test driving the new or used car before they buy. I have seen people buy a car without going on a test drive of the car only to regret their purchase. Even new cars can drive somewhat differently than the next.

#5 Trading in their old car with getting it ready. The trade in appraiser is always going to allow more for your trade in when the car is clean. A clean car always looks better than a dirty car that is full of trash. The car salesman will tell you that it doesn’t matter but it does make a difference.

#6 Financing a car through the dealer without comparing rates with other lenders. When you have the car dealer finance your car purchase without knowing what other lenders offer you leave yourself open for a scam. It is more common than you might think for the car dealer to increase your rate of interest to increase profits.

#7 Negotiating payments and failing to cover the price that is you paid for the car. When you go back and forth with the salesman over payment instead of the price you may be paying too much.

#8 Deciding to buy a warranty from the car dealer before doing some research. An extended warranty might be important to you, but there are other places to get one. Buying a extended warranty from the car dealer can have paying much more than is needed.

#9 Letting their emotions make the decision to buy the car. The purchase of a car should be handled like a business transaction. Whenever you let your emotions guide you car buying decision you will spend more than you need.

#10 Taking car buying advice from the car salesman. They will avoid your car buying questions and change the subject to sell a car. The car salesman works on commission and they are focused on selling you a car at any cost.

Save yourself some time, money and aggravation by not making the same mistakes that many car buyers make.

Auto repairs and the ways how to avoid them

September 25th, 2009

One thing that people always neglect to do with their cars is its maintenance.  They don’t realize the little time it takes to do can save them money. And it can also save them the time and hassle.Because taking your car in auto shops for maintenance takes a lot less time than taking it in for repairs. So what can one do to avoid shelling extra money on auto repairs?

Well first of all you want to always keep your car tuned up. It is a very simple thing to do.  But it is a procedure that will help your car last longer.  In my San Marcos auto repair shop I always encourage my clients to bring their car in for tune ups.It isn’t because I want them to spend more money and make my business richer. But for them to save a lot of money on repairs.

Another thing I always tell and encourage car owners is that they change the oils of their cars regularly. Doing this simple task will go a long way.It can help in making the engine run smoother and make it last longer.  Think of the oil as your car’s blood. It won’t be able to survive just like a person that is losing a lot of blood.A car with low oil levels can damage its engine severely.  I have seen it too many times where customers brought in a burnt out engine into my Carlsbad auto repair shop. And the reason for this is just due to low oil levels.  So be smart and change your oil regularly.

Last thing I always remind my clients is that they regularly check the transmission of their cars.  Just like the engine, the transmission is a very expensive part to replace. But making it last is an easy thing to do. All you have to do is to regularly maintain it.  In my transmission repair shop I always tell my clients to check their transmission fluid.Neglecting the level of it and make it go so low will ruin your transmission.

So there you have it.Performing these simple things will enable you to save a lot on money on repairs.  Plus your car will last longer.

Weight Loss Statistics That Are Staggering…

August 7th, 2009

Over 80% of the worlds population is overweight and out of that 80%, 10% of all overweight people are slightly to morbidly obese. When looking at these staggering statistics it’s no wonder that millions of people throughout the world are obsessed with weight loss. The problem is, the majority of people are going about it the wrong way.

Most people are looking for a miracle weight loss program where they can take a simple pill and watch all their pounds vanish. Others are looking for a simple diet plan that is easy to follow and doesn’t starve them to death. People are always looking the easiest manner in which to lose weight without having to put in much effort.

Similar problems exist in many other aspects of health maintenance as well. For example, most people don’t know that you can rebuild your vision through eye exercises

The problem with 98% of all weight loss programs is that the majority of them declare that you can lose the weight you want by doing nothing more than following them. Though these weight loss programs may prove to shed pounds immediately, they generally fail in the long-term, and weight is regained in little time.

However, you can avoid this return weight gain by doing something very simple: exercising! A diet on its own will fail. The only way to properly keep off the weight is to follow a diet program with exercise. When exercising, the body will begin to work off fat which will form no matter what diet program you are on.

If a diet program promises you that you can expect extreme weight loss and keep it off without doing anything else, then you can automatically assume that the program is not legitimate. Any diet plan that is not followed up with a proper exercise program will always result in failure. That is why nearly 95% of all diet programs fail! The statistics don’t lie when it comes to weight loss.

Be sure to check with your doctor before changing your weight, level of exercise or diet.

Reasons For An Electric Car Conversion

July 2nd, 2009

More and more people are trying to find viable ways of saving money.  With so many companies letting employees go and the cost of gas on the rise, this has become a serious challenge.  This has led to the development of the hybrid electric car and while a great idea, buying one of these cars is expensive.  Then, with the size of these cars being so small, they do not work for everyone and they can present a danger in some conditions.

As a part of the electric conversion , people also enjoy saving a tremendous amount of money by doing the conversion themselves and the love diversity in that it works on all cars, but also trucks, vans, and sports utility vehicles, whether running on regular, unleaded, or diesel gasoline.  To complete the conversion process, people need only a few standard tools and a little time.  Then, with this being a completely safe process for the person doing the conversion and there is no damage to the automobile, gas to electric conversion makes perfect sense.  The benefit of using a conversion kit, like the the Build Your Own Elect Auto system, changing a gas powered automobile to run that runs on electricity, the person uses his or her own car, no matter the type, even expensive models such as Mercedes Benz, Volvo, and BMW.

Another kit is the Electricityfor Gas.  Using a kit such as this for converting a gas-powered car into one that runs on electricity, consumers discover that the kits are inexpensive, the information is easy to follow, and the conversion can be completed without the need for special tools.  After the car is done, the person has a high-energy efficient vehicle that is safe, powerful, and one that does not pollute the air.

In addition to this conversion kit being easy to use, it is also affordable, providing everything a person needs to turn a gas powered car into one that runs off electricity.  When people look at the low cost for the product and then compare it with all the benefits associated with the conversion, the electric car wins without trouble.

To complete the conversion, the instructions make it easy.  Once the person that has made all the changes and the car is now ready to run on electricity, the savings will be tremendous, not to mention cleaner air due to fewer emissions.  An electric car can be used for short or long distance trips.  Capable of traveling up to 100 miles without being charged, these cars are a great option for getting around town but for longer trips, the person simply needs to use the battery to recharge.  Additionally, electric cars are capable of traveling up to 50 miles per hour so they can be driven on interstate freeways.

To make the conversion from a gas-powered car to electric even better, people need to take time to learn about rebates and various incentives offered by the Federal government.  Simply put, deciding to convert to an electric car offers a long list of benefits from lower cost, cleaner air, and governmental deductions.

More and more, people want to make a difference in the environment, working to product cleaner air for generations to come.  Converting a gas car to one that runs on electricity accomplishes this goal.  Sure, consumers could visit any number of dealerships to buy a hybrid but they will pay significant money.  Instead, using a kit to complete the conversion is more affordable but the results just as incredible.
