Style Is Second-Nature To KMC XD Rims

March 2nd, 2010

For those fans of aftermarket wheels for their car, truck or SUV it’s a fact that style is second nature to KMC XD rims. This maker of good-looking and well-built car rims also suffuses its lineup with value throughout, which should be a comfort to those looking to buy a set of wheels while maximizing their investment in today’s shaky economic environment. They’re so well made, in fact, they’ll be sure to be worth their retail price.

There are two main lines of KMC rims and wheels: XD Series and Lorenzo Forged. The former is probably the more common of the two lineups, though that by no means should imply that any wheel in the KD Series would be cheap or “common” in a negative way. One reason this is so is because XDs are more for the truck enthusiast. This fact is supported by the size of some of these units, which run up past 24 inches.

Taking advantage of the company’s “Super Lip” technologies, the Lorenzo Forged Series of wheels and rims make good use of that trademark technology to deliver quality wheels to the car and truck buyer who might be looking for a car tires of most any style, color and finish. They’re also versatile, coming in a large number of bolt patterns and lips, which only add to their good looks.

KMC offers an extremely strong wheel warranty, with the original purchaser being protected against wheel failure due to structural defect for the life of the wheel. A one-year warranty is offered that also protects the original purchaser against problems with materials or workmanship from the date of purchase. This should serve to comfort buyers looking to protect their investment.

There are several different categories of wheels offered by KMC that includes SUV and trucks as well as standard passenger cars and the three different XD series of wheels. There are XD Beadlock styles for the desert and other terrain that run from 15 inches up to 17 inches and the XD SYS wheels, called Badlands and Enduro, generally speaking.

Lorenzo Forged wheels are made such that they ensure that any purchaser adds a great deal of uniqueness and style to their vehicle through these wheels. They’re found in the KMC catalog by their “WL” listing and they come in sizes running all the way up to 26 inches, which is very large. They’re sure to help any vehicle stand out when it comes to looks.

Current favorites among KMC enthusiasts are a number of styles offered in gloss black finishes, which add a very rich look to most any upmarket (or even standard market) automobile. They might even be said to be a bit menacing looking, but for sure they’re built to last and continue giving a lot of viewing pleasure for years to come. Indeed, KMC as a company seems to specializing in making appealing eye candy out of its wheels.

It has to be said that while KMC chrome wheels aren’t hugely expensive, they’re not cheap, either. Most fans of this aftermarket manufacturer of quality cheap tires, though, would say they’re well worth their asking price (anywhere from 250 to 500 dollars per wheel) because they’re so well-made and stylish looking. Indeed, there’s pretty much nothing to dislike about these particular wheels no matter their configuration.

KMC Rims Bring Out Style Like No Other

April 2nd, 2009

The car markets have never been more competitive. And as far as aftermarket wheels and rims go, it’s an exciting time to be in the industry. Given both those issues, KMC Wheels bring it on when it comes to matching up against other manufacturers out on these streets, these days. Wheels are some of the first things people see when they think of a car, or of customizing that car. It may not be a lot of customizing, but they still want something distinctive-looking. This is where KMC wheels and KMC rims have the advantage. They turn a vanilla-looking ride into something with a bit of spice and flair in no time at all.

Move Up in Size. KMC Wheels and KMC Rims come in sizes from 16 inches up to some really large ones of 26 inches or more. These are the wheels that KMC Wheel Company knows are going to end up on more than a few urban street machines. The smaller-diameter wheels are purpose-built for street performance and handling.

Wheels and Rims? For the most part, there’s little if any difference in a rim or a wheel, other than that “rims” sounds more urban and hip than the word “wheels.” Once in a while, a rim may be joined more flush at the lip (where the tire seals) than you might see in a wheel, but that’s about the only thing that differs between the two. 20-inch “dubs” and sizes beyond that are designed more for a street statement than for high-speed performance.

Rolling Metals. Steel was the metal of choice for a car’s Custom Wheels for much of the automobile’s history. It had the advantage of durability and it could actually be bent back into shape somewhat, if it was dented. But it was heavier, and that could hurt a car’s ability to move quickly.

Stepping Up to Alloys. Any wheel worth its performance or appearance salt will be made of one sort of alloy or another, these days. Alloy wheels are lighter, and reduce rolling resistance, which helps a car’s speed. Also, they help reduce fuel consumption because the car has less weight to pull. But if you break one, you can usually forget about having it repaired. There are even titanium or magnesium automobile wheels these days, though they’re more expensive than aluminum.

Bolt it Down. Wheels have different bolt requirements and patterns. And a wheel is affixed to an axle through its hub. The number of bolts that a wheel may need depends on what the wheel is going to be required to do or the stresses it’s going to have to stand up to. Usually, for street machines, four or five bolts are all you’ll see. KMC Wheel Company has a number of models that have this, and several that might use more, if a special purpose is required.

Do Something to Look Good. Given the variety of KMC Wheels and KMC Rims available, it’d be almost impossible to fail to find a wheel or rim set that can’t take an okay-looking car and turn it into something better than that. If you need more speed, go with a performance-designed set. If you want street credibility, a good set of “dubs” will fill the bill.

Get Rolling. Even if speed’s not your primary concern, KMC Rims can deliver solid performance and outstanding good looks. There are different sizes and finishes, so finding the ones that are right for your automobile should be relatively easy. If you need to make a fashion or performance statement for your car, these units may just be what you’re looking for. For more information, check out our site http://www.hubcap-tire-wheel.com/.
