Automotive Industry News – Grasp All Automotive

February 5th, 2010

Despite the current decline in the global economy, there is a buzz in News On Automotive Industry. The slowing economic environment often pulls all the public’s attention away from many exciting new developments and prospects. One growing sector to keep an eye on is the development of greener transport.

Owing to consistent and constant media attention, the role we play in causing or preventing global warming effects is finally sinking into the public. People are more interested than ever in doing their part to help lessen greenhouse gas emissions. One way in which they feel they can do this is by changing the way they get about.

The electric vehicle (EV) has been a particularly talked about design. By being completely free of fossil fuel dependencies and having comparatively low emissions, it is a good solution to the ever greener public’s problem. A few hiccups hinder progress. The price of the lithium battery, which is usually higher than most gas or diesel engines, and the massive work on infrastructure required, are a few examples. You need to keep up with the News On The Automotive Industry.

But electric cars should not get shut out of the picture. There must simply be a shallower gradient of integration. The hybrid is the logical choice. It is greener than vehicles using internal combustion engines and less pricey than pure electrics. It is the missing link between the two and it is clearly favored by the public, judging by the ever swelling number of hybrid sales.

Besides fuel efficiency, new ground is being made every day on issues such as safety. New designs of certain models are now equipped with the latest in radar cruise control and collision detection monitors. However, since these appear on top models, it is only fair to ask what improvements are being made to existing technology found in the average vehicle?

Airbags, formerly unaccommodating and potentially harmful, now determine exactly how they should inflate in the event of a crash. This is done by weighing and sizing you up. Anti-lock braking has been upgraded too, providing more sudden and powerful braking. Even the smallest additions help: tire monitors, soon to be a standard in every modern car, will keep you up-to-date with the pressure, ensuring you know when things need to be checked.

Don’t forget all those little extras that make an automobile that much more desirable. The latest gadgets are pushing the driving experience into the future. One clever little key design allows you to limit the top speed of the car, ensuring speed-hungry teens don’t crash the family vehicle.  Another high tech addition is night vision, allowing a clear view of the road when headlights can’t help. Perfecting existing designs, new GPS systems provide constant instructions, as well as updated traffic reports.

New designs, technology and improvements appear in Automotive Repair Industry News daily, and it is definitely worth keeping up to date.

The more elegant by a couple of countries

December 5th, 2009

Hybrid vehicles are slowly taking over the automotive market. Environmental effects and arising gas costs give prompted scientists and societies to offer choices. This Cars allow an alternative for user and cut down dependency from.

Hybrid technology has been steadily developing over the past centuries. Although diesel will always be a dominant power source for vehicles, other sources are also being utilized to reduce harmful impacts on the environment and health of the general public. This gives hybrid vehicles the edge over conventional vehicles today.

It is no doubt that mankind is not only depleting the planet of its natural resources but also causing its deterioration. The developing of scientific discipline and science accepts made up Hollywood sci-fi film adjusts more executable than we believed but it also brings in a lot moments. The evolution of former force seeds such Cars and fuels are good in the end to confirm aliveness about globe.

Hybrid electric vehicles

Hybrid electric vehicles work by using an internal combustion engine which uses fuel and a rechargeable energy storage system. By using the combination of these two power sources the vehicle will be able to decrease fuel consumption, reduce pollution and noise emissions. It's dissimilar from the hybrid Cars force trains which consumptions a gas force source and a reversible power depot system.

Diesel engines are typically used to generate power for hybrid vehicles. These Cars may as well apply biofuels which are inexhaustible sources of power. These cuts down the dependance about crude oil for gas. Reduced consumption of gas goes to little emissions and less prices.

These vehicles are able to recapture wasted energy and turn off the diesel engine during low output and idle periods such as traffic. The ICEs is likewise a lot cleaner and effective while equated to conventional automobiles. The technology reduces the wear on the engine and the brakes. Different than pop feeling hybrid electric Cars electric battery* is not risky wastes. They can be recycled and reused.

These vehicles are suitable in urban environments where traffic is normal and there are more people in the streets. Emissions from cars are also harmful on the health of the general public.

These vehicles provide a practical alternative for environment conscious consumers. Gas prices, environment and health issues are all being addressed by this technology. Hopefully in the next this types of Cars will be more approachable complete the Earth.

Gas or Diesel – Fuel Gulping Monster or a Loud Smoking Dinosaur

October 6th, 2009

In this article I’m comparing the diesel and the gas engine and discuss their differences. Specifically their usage in autos.

Looking at them from a distance both the gas and the diesel engine work in about the same way. Fuel manufactured from refined crude burns in the cylinder forcing the piston to move from the resulting pressure. The movement of the piston is then transferred to the wheels through crankshaft, gearbox and transmission.

It’s when you look closer at the two engines that you start to see the differences. Difference in fuel economy, smell, vibration, expected age and price just to name a few.

The gas engine has an ignition system with high voltages, wiring and spark plugs. The diesel does not need this, it compresses the fuel/air mixture until it's so hot it ignites all by itself. In the gas engine it's the spark plug that ignites the fuel-air mixture through a high voltage spark at the right time.

Another thing that separates the diesel from the gas engine is that gas engines adds the fuel vapor to the air in the intake manifold either through a carburetor or through fuel injection nozzles. The air/fuel mixture is then sucked into the cylinder to be burnt the next time the piston strikes.

On the other hand the diesel engine sucks fresh air into the cylinder and lets the piston compress it to maximum pressure. Fully compressed the air is hot enough to ignite disesel and at that point high pressure nozzles will start to spray fuel into the cylinder. The high temperature of the cylinder instantly ignites the fuel.

The different fuel injection and combustion makes the diesel burn fuel more efficiently than a gas engine. That's why a diesel has a better gas mileage than it's gas powered counterpart.

This is not to say that a diesel is better. It's different, it has drawbacks too. Diesel engines usually is harder to start in cold and freezing weather. If you remember it was compressed hot air that ignited the fuel. If it's cold enough outside the air will not become hot enough and it will not ignite the fuel, then the engine will not start.

That’s why diesels have glow plugs that are used when starting a cold engine. Electrical power from the accumulator is used to preheat the glow plugs inside the cylinders before the engine is started. This way the hot glow plugs ignite the fuel when the air is not hot enough to do it. A couple of seconds after the engine has started it is usually hot enough to ignite the fuel without the help of the glow plugs and these are not used again until the next cold start.

This is one of the nuisances of having a diesel in your car. Glowing can take from a couple of second to half a minute and can be quite a stress if in a hurry. You just have to wait until it's ready or the car won't start. On a more expensive engine the glowing does not take long, it might not even be required, and you'll soon get accustomed to it.

Lets for a second look at the practical differences between the diesel and the gas engine. The diesel engine is large and loud and it produces clouds of black strinking smoke when accelerating. In addition it has a more robust construction because of the high compression is must handle and can usually go twice as many miles as the same size gas engine during it's life. The sturdier construction also makes it more expensive when first bought.

Features of The Gas Engine

  • More quiet that the diesel
  • Better acceleration and higher top speed
  • Uses an Ignition System with Spark Plugs to Light The Fuel
  • Adds fuel to the air before letting it into the cylinder
  • Not as sturdy as a diesel. Lower price but breaks down faster
  • Gas readily available everywhere
  • MPG is low compared to a diesel

Features of The Diesel Engine

  • Loud noise, sounds like a truck or agricultural machine
  • Slow acceleration (get one with turbo charger, that helps)
  • Lower top speeds but can easily reach the legal speed limit in most places
  • Uses glow plugs to help the fuel ignite when the engine is cold
  • Lets clean air into the cylinder and injects the fuel later
  • Engine is simple and robust. Higher price but runs many miles
  • Emits black smoke when loading it (like a quick acceleration)
  • Easy to convert to using Eco fuel oils
  • Has a great fuel economy

If I where to give you advice on selecting either a gas or a diesel powered car I would probably tell you this: Get a diesel if you drive long trips and can live with the small nuisances of more noise and poor acceleration, get a gas powered car if you drive less than average or if you just want the comfort at any price.

Wrong Fuesl in My Diesel Car

September 20th, 2009

I have driven a petrol car all my life, but because I travel quite a lot during the week people were forever praising diesel engines and how much more practical they are and how much cheaper to run they can be. So when my old car packed up on me I decided to purchase a brand new diesel car.

I mean it was a perfect and smooth drive, it was a bit nosier than my petrol car, but it was saving me a bit of money so it was something that I could well live with. At any rate, this post is actually about my first ever fill up of my modern diesel vehicle. Because I was so used to filling the automobile up with the green petrol pump it was just 2nd nature to me. I frankly didnt believe I had done anything wrong so I left the petrol place to head to my meeting.

I think it was around 5 minutes had passed when my car began shaking, then after 10 minutes the vehicle came to a standstill. But then I remembered that I had put the wrong fuel in the car. I got the AA to toe me home, but I have heard from people that they have to drain the whole fuel system which is going to cost me quite a bit, but besides from that I lost a big contract by not being able to make it to the meeting.

The aim of this article is just too merely advise everyone that using the right oil is a must, it really does not matter if its for your automobile, heating system oil or lawnmower. By putting the incorrect form of oil into the vehicle it is going to end up costing you rather a bit of money.
