New Drivers Can Save Money On Car Gearbox Repairs

December 26th, 2009

If there are any new drivers reading this, chances are that you are excited about being able to get your own car, but there might also be some apprehension about it all. Think about it – driving without the instructor sat next to you might make you a little nervous. Having said that, there are plenty of new drivers that just revel in the fact they have finally got some independence.

Learn More About How Your Car Works

It can be really easy to overlook the important aspects of car ownership, and gearbox problems might be something you find yourself dealing with. It could be that your parents have bought you a vehicle and it is verging on being an old banger. With the recession still biting at the heels of drivers, not everyone can pay for a new car and an older car is the only option, but then you have to take into consideration all the extra problems you may encounter. For example, gearbox problems are a dangerous reality of old cars and some new drivers simply aren’t away of what to look for or how to go about fixing it.

Do Some Research

Any understanding parent should point a new driver in the direction of where they need to be for getting their gearbox problems sorted. Actually, you don’t have to do a lot of digging, because there are some specialist gearbox repair centres in the UK that are capable of dealing with a whole host of nasty gearbox problems. Reputable companies will get your car as good as new.

The next thing you’re probably going to be concerned about is the cost. The best advice is not to head to a main dealer, as they will charge a fortune for just looking at gearbox problems. New drivers will be delighted to learn that they can save money by opting for a reconditioned gearbox.

Save Money With Used Cars

December 5th, 2009

Buying used cars doesn’t mean you have to compromise on quality. Buying used actually means you will save lots of money on the vehicle itself and also insurance, which can sometimes be very costly.

Credit Crunch Insurance

In most cases, the older the car then the cheaper the insurance. Do bear in mind that this rule doesn’t apply to someone who wants a vintage Porsche as the insurance actually goes up, but a used Vauxhall car like a Corsa will be very affordable indeed. Saving money any way you can is important during the recession, and any used Vauxhall car is cheap to run. Cars are expensive though and people don’t often consider all the extras when they buy a car for the first time. However, when you buy used cars you can rest assured that the insurance is going to cost much less for you.

Tax On The Cheap

It doesn’t matter if you pay tax every 6 months of annually, the costs can still mount up. If you have a new car then the tax will be more. With old, used Vauxhall cars though, you won’t be paying half as much as someone with a brand new car. The cost of tax varies, but if you can save money with a used car then it is much easier on the recession-hit bank balance.

Of course, people still need to use their cars for everyday things but they certainly don’t want the costs to cripple them. Cash-strapped car drivers are therefore much more inclined to buy a used car, or look at used Vauxhall cars, rather than head to a new car dealership. More people are choosing old over new, and some are even selling their new car promptly so they can afford something much cheaper, as they realise that new cars eat away at the bank balance.

What people need to realise is that buying a car isn’t just a one-off cost and there are many more things you have to take into consideration. Insurance and tax are just two very important essentials of car ownership, so any way you can reduce the costs is favourable. Always buy used Vauxhall cars if you want a great deal.

Hybrid Cars: What’s Big About Them and What’s Not

July 16th, 2009

Ever wondered why more and more people seem to have a preference in getting a hybrid car as a replacement for of a conventional car even if hybrid car retail prices are far more costly? What is the reason behind the reputation of hybrid cars?

The reason – the pros of owning a hybrid prevail over the cons. Those who own hybrids pay about half in fuel expenses than those who own similar combustion engine cars do. Why?: because hybrid cars run on two engines. One engine is the familiar combustion one but the second engine is actually made up of an electric motor with its own batteries. By combining two types of engines, the car earns the name “hybrid”. The combination of power sources also means your car is less noisy, emits less fumes into the air andruns far more efficiently than conventional cars. These are the reason hybrid cars are in such high demand right now.

Another advantage are the Hybrid Car Tax Credit the government provides. A number of countys and states will give you tax rebates for driving a hybrid car. This reason alone is a big push for many hybrid car ownership.

Here is one more good reason: The cars are not using conventional fuel and so it is very environmental friendly. Quite a number of environmentalists swear by hybrid cars because it has lower pollution rate.

Now in reality, not everything about owning a hybrid car is positive. For example, the main advantage of hybrid cars, it’s electrical motor, can also be considered one of its biggest flaws. If it encounters a performance problem, it’s considerably more expensive to service or replace. It also poses a risk for electric shock for anyone attempting to free you from a wreck, because of the large amount of voltage associated with an electric engine.

Another concern with hybrid ownership is the higher price tag when compared to similar cars in its class. Still, the hybrid is still a better value by saving its owners big money in the long run. Do the math on the amount of gas each car will consume over the course of its life and add it to the retail price of the car. It should work out that the hybrid actually costs less in the long run after all.

Drive A Cheap Luxury Car

May 14th, 2009

As you are no doubt aware the car industry is suffering recently due to the long term economic recession that we have found ourselves in. This has meant that a majority of the buying public have had to tighten their purse strings and reign in the gratuitous spending of the nineties and early noughties. To many this would equate to downgrading the vehicles they drive and going for cheaper and inferior models than what they would prefer to be driving. This is not necessary and I have the perfect antidote to those who would love to drive a luxury car but cannot imagine a feasible way of affording one. I would strongly suggest visiting Sytner Used Audi and find yourself a fantastic Used Audi bargain.

Believe me, I wouldn’t offer this advice had I not tried it myself. I visited Sytner Used Audi and had a good look at all the Used Audi models in their dealership. After a conveniently short amount of time I found an out-of-this world Used Audi TT, which had low mileage, was relatively new and was a fraction of the price of a new model. After just one test drive I was completely convinced that the Used Audi TT was the perfect car for me. Four hours later and I was driving my car home.

So my advice to everyone who genuinely thinks that they should give up the dream of luxury car ownership would be to visit Sytner Used Audi as soon as possible. It is highly unlikely that their bargain prices will last for long as they are likely to be snapped up very soon by fellow eager bargain-hunters.

Whilst we may be unable to change the financial course of the economy ourselves, we can conduct our lifestyles in the way we are accustomed to. All we have to do is be sensible and re-evaluate how we buy our goods. Visiting Sytner Used Audi  was a great start for me.
