Dollar Car Rental- An Option

October 28th, 2009

Not everyone owns a car.  On occasion car owners can’t use their own vehicle.  This could be while on a vacation, or while their car is being repaired.  Sometimes people don’t want to drive their own car on a long trip.  Wear and tear can be minimized this way.  This is a job for Dollar car rental.

Let’s play make believe.  You’re a suburbanite.  But the city is where you have your job.  You live near the railroad station.  Since you spend so much of your time at work, why have a car sitting in a paid parking space?  Nobody drives the car while you’re at work.  So it makes sense to plan errands such as shopping for a Saturday.  Rent a car that day.  After running all the errands and seeing a play, bring it back on Sunday.  Most likely for less that all your car needs have been met.  Owning a car and paying all the insurance, registration, garage and parking fees, is a lot more than x 52 or about 40 a year.  The car rental is a bargain.

If a car is always needed, then by all means purchase.  If the school bus doesn’t run, someone has to drive the children to school.  Maybe the typical daily tasks and errands require more travel and carrying than would be workable on a bus or train schedule.  Buying is the thing.  But renting for short use may be the better idea.

Employee travel means reimbursement for mileage.  That’s often in the neighborhood of fifty cents or more per mile.  That’s daily for a 100 mile ride.  A car rental from Dollar or Budget auto rental is only each day, plus for a few gallons of gas is still only for that same 100 mile day.  The Dollar car rental is the better choice in that example.

So when you making car rental comparisons you will almost aways discover that Dollar car rentals are the most competitive.

Consider Alamo Auto Rental

October 1st, 2009

When a car is needed for a vacation or business trip, consider an Alamo auto rental.  Because prolonged trips wear down a car, it may be a good idea to rent a car for long drives such as to another state.  In some cases, such as during special rental programs for one way travel, a car rental can be had for only $1 per day.  That’s a fantastic deal.

Alamo started way back in 1974 in Florida.  The company decided to specialize in personal leisure travel.  With so many vacationers coming to Florida for the sun and for Disney, it was a natural fit.  Alamo has a lot of firsts under its belt.  Unlimited miles, for example.  The last thing vacationers want to do is worry about how many miles they’re driving.  Alamo didn’t hesitate to take this into account and come up with a solution.

Alamo was also one of the first to rent cars from a large plaza facility.  Corporate accounts that rented according to a pretty regular schedule were the most common customers in 1974 for car rental businesses.  Although they had a lot of business, much of it was conducted over the phone, long before the traveler showed up to pick up the vehicle.  But vacationers often showed up on the spot and in large numbers all at the same time.  The type of rental locations often seen near airports were thus put into practice by Alamo.  Mission to get people on their way faster was accomplished.

Booking reservations on the Internet and insurance for the rental car were also pioneered by Alamo.  To remove the concern over dings and dents, Alamo provided low cost temporary car coverage.  In 1995 Alamo launched on line booking.  It was another big first.

Renters today don’t care about firsts.  Most major auto rental companies provide the same services.  Good prices and good vehicles count.  Alamo has those covered.  A 24 car rental is as low as $19.  That’s competitive with other companies.  Free hotel stays and airline trips are easy to earn through Alamo.

Nobody imagined a market for vacation car rentals in 1974.  What a difference a few decades makes for Alamo auto rental.

So if you need a car rental and your making a car rental comparison make sure you consider Alamo.

Budget Auto Rental Will Save Money

May 5th, 2009

When a car is in the shop, or there’s a business trip, or they need a car for a few days to run errands, people rent cars.  Car rental comparions are necessary since there are so many companies that rent out autos.  One with a big marketing budget is Budget.  That’s what Budget auto rental is a company many people use.  Lowest price is associated with the name.  It’s not true, but it’s a good marketing technique.

Budget doesn’t only rent cars.  It also rents trucks used by people for moving, hauling materials and gear for business, and a variety of other purposes.  Comfort and style are key to Budget trucks.  In fact luxuries like automatic transmission, air conditioning, power brakes and power steering helped set them apart from other truck rentals.  What a relief compared to other trucks with bumpy, loud rides and practically no comforts.  Also there’s another benefit to choosing a Budget rental truck.  The interior has no bulge for a wheel well.  That adds to the storage in the truck and makes it easier to maneuver items through the interior.  When trucks have served their time as rentals, Budget sells them.  Budget trucks, therefore, have another nice comfort.  They’re generally newer trucks in excellent working condition.  Nobody wants a break down on moving day.

In some parts of the country, such as New York City, people find it inconvenient to own a car.  High parking prices, congested streets, and the availability of rapid transit add up in a decision to go car-less.  But for some tasks people must have a vehicle.  When the load is too much to carry on a bus, that’s one time.  Or it might be that they want a relaxing car ride.  This calls for a rental car  Budget rents some cars for $160 weekly which can’t be beat.  Even if your rent a car from Budget or Dollar rental every weekend for the whole year, that can be a lot cheaper than ownership.  When a car isn’t necessary every day, people rent them on the days they need them.

Dollar Car Rental- An Option

April 21st, 2009

Not all people have cars.  Some people who own them find themselves in positions where they don’t have access to their own car.  It could be a vacation or business trip need.  Some folks try to avoid long trips in their own car.  It’s a good way to avoid abuse.  That’s when Dollar car rentals are useful.

Let’s play make believe.  You live in the suburbs.  You work in the city.  You live near the railroad station.  Since you spend so much of your time at work, why have a car sitting in a paid parking space?  The car isn’t driven during the week days.  So it makes sense to plan errands such as shopping for a Saturday.  Go to Avis or Hertz for a car for the day.  Return it on Sunday after riding around town, doing the shopping, even driving to a restaurant for dinner.  That adds up to about $20 for all the necessary car use.  Owning a car and paying all the insurance, registration, garage and parking fees, is a lot more than $20 x 52 or about $1040 a year.  Renting a car is a real bargain.

If a car is always needed, then by all means purchase.  Maybe the kids have a lot of activities and need a chauffeur.  All the groceries may be too heavy to carry on a bus.  Buying is the thing.  But with a little planning there’s no purchase necessary, just rent for the short term use.

Businesses for which employees travel a lot have to pay mileage reimbursement.  That cost is fifty cents per mile.  Add it up – $50 a day if someone drives 100 miles.  A car rental from Dollar or Budget auto rental is only $20 each day, plus $12 for a few gallons of gas is still only $32 for that same 100 mile day.  It makes sense, then, for companies to consider a Dollar car rental instead of having employees drive their own cars on business.

So when you making car rental comparisons you will almost aways discover that Dollar car rentals are the most competitive.

How to Get the Best Deal at Alamo Car Rental

February 1st, 2009

When a car is needed for a vacation or business trip, consider an Alamo car rental.  Because prolonged trips wear down a car, it may be a good idea to rent a car for long drives such as to another state.  Car rental isn’t as expensive as some people think.  Some are available for only $1 per day.  Talk about a bargain.

The setting was the Sunshine State, 1974.  Alamo began business.  They quickly recognized that the vacation rental business was under served.  Since Florida was a popular vacation destination, it only made sense.  Alamo has a lot of firsts under its belt.  Letting people drive with no limit to miles was one.  Families on vacation don’t want to track miles or to pay extra when they go over a certain amount.  Alamo was one of the first rental car companies to recognize this and come up with a solution.

The super rental facility was another of Alamo’s firsts.  Other car rental companies at the time – 1974, remember – mostly worked with corporate repeat clients.  Deals were sealed over the phone, and cars often delivered to a company location.  The vacation business is different because lots of people walk in to rent.  Again Alamo responded, this time with facilities to quickly serve the masses.  Mission to get people on their way faster was accomplished.

Amongst other common car rental features Alamo pioneered are rental insurance and online car rentals.  No longer did vacationers have to worry about cracking up the auto.  And in 1995 Alamo provided the first opportunity renters had ever seen to book their rental on the Internet.  That was a big deal at the time.

Renters today don’t care about firsts.  One car rental company is a lot like another.  Reliable cars that don’t break the bank are what matters.  That’s a fact of life with Alamo car rental.  An economy car from Alamo can cost less than $20 per rental day.  No other company is any lower.  Alamo has some of the best relationships in the travel business, so renters can enjoy hotel stays and airline miles.

In 1974 Alamo had a dream about providing car rentals.  What a difference a few decades makes for Alamo car rental.
