Getting Around With A Razor

August 31st, 2009

The popular name of Razor scooters is kick scooters or push scooters, and they follow the tradition of Wim Ouboter, the Swiss who inspired JDBUG to create the first Razor. At present, Razor scooters are produced by Razor USA, the company is located in California and enjoys great sales for the moment. It often happens to take the Razor scooters design for the standard image of folding push scooters in general, particular since the aluminum frame is a defining feature. Go here for a used vespa.

The brake consists of a hinged fender that is pushed down over the rear wheel. Easy to carry and store, Razor scooters can be folded and taken on the bus, on the underground or even in the trunk of the car. There are mainly four model variants available for Razor scooters: A, A2, A3 and Pro Model or A4. There are four other versions but they are simpler in design or incorporate a special feature besides the standard. Another model AW125 has an extended deck, being suitable for adult use. On the other hand, bigger-sized Razor scooters are part of the Cruiser Scooter category, but their 140mm wheels cannot be replaced in a regular service. Check out Vespa manual.

Razor scooters have made a big name in free-style. More and more people start using the scooter in daring sports that allow one to have fun and enjoy adrenaline. Razor scooters often undergo some form of reinforcements when they are intended for frees-style because the shock of high force impact cannot be otherwise absorbed. The A4 or Pro model works well in off-road conditions because it has larger wheels and superior strength in the frame. The other Razor scooters A, A2 and A3 include a manual bar in the rear part, but you can remove it if you don’t like it.

The material that Razor scooters are made of is airplane grade aluminum, meant to support a 1,100 pound load without the risk of bending. All the foldable models are also very silent thanks to the special design and material of the wheels. To recognize and respect the technical achievements of Razor company in the design and promotion of scooters, means to recognize their contribution to the worldwide development of a new sport and a new pseudo-vehicle to use in over-crowded urban areas. Take a look at used Vespa manual.

DPF Delete Kits will ensure better engine power on off-road diesel trucks

August 31st, 2009

Many new diesel trucks now include filter technology, more particularly, a device called diesel particulate filter otherwise known as DPF.the designers of the kit will guarantee the elimination of the soot of so called diesel particulate and drastically improve the color of the smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe. This is very important as currently, engine manufacturers are already being required to comply with increasingly stringent emissions standards that regulate particulate emissions from diesel engines. Unfortunately, the process that ensues hampers power and fuel mileage in the vehicle, which is the problem that DPF delete kits address.

A process called regeneration burns accumulated soots that the DPF traps in the exhaust, resulting to an almost clear exhaust. The vehicle’s engine management computer will passively or actively control. Among other things, the process introduces the concept ofback pressure, which is what happens when the spent gases in the exhaust are hampered by the tight bends in the piping or air vents for example. While others said the regeneration process has affected the fuel efficiency of their vehicle as power and fuel are greatly compromised. Eliminating the back pressure problem with DPF delete, thus freeing up the engine to work better, sends more power to the wheels, and allows it to burn less fuel. Some independent tests report an improvement of 4 to 7 mpg.

A standard DPF delete kit wouldusually include a DPF delete pipe, a touch screen programmer, aluminized or stainless exhaust and muffler, dual tailpiles catalytic converter delete pipe and standard tunes. The combination of contents in the kit depends on the needs of the driver and the kind of tuning his vehicle may require.

Manufacturers of DPF delete pipes, which function as direct bolt on replacement for the factory DPF, also claim that installation of the device can increase as much as 300 horsepower and500 lb/ft oftorque at the same time. The pipes can be used on Ford 6.4L Powerstroke , GM LMM 6.other diesel engines.7L Cummins Diesel engines, without having to use any check engine codes.

Up to date, only off-road diesel-engined vehicles are allowed to install these DPF delete kits because it interferes with emission process. Authorities said on-highway vehicles will be slapped a fine if they will be caught using DPF Delete kits in their vehicle.. Do not try to make alterations on the kits’ components or the warranty on the exhaust stack and EGR and turbo will be voided. Some users believe the risk of losing warranty on their vehicle’s engine was worth it as the performance of their diesel engine increased dramatically since they installed the kit.

Are Car Park Spaces Not Wide Enough?

August 30th, 2009

An increasing number of motorists are complaining that car parking spaces, in various car parks, are simply too small. Is this really the cause of the problem or is the issue really that people are driving increasingly large vehicles?

According to Park Rite, the largest operator of public car parks in the United Kingdom, the dimensions of parking spaces need to relate to the vehicles that the space is intended for. Their current standard recommends that parking bays are 2.4m wide and 4.8m in length. But many of todays popular vehicles will only just fit into this space leaving no room for doors to be opened easily.

Some car park operators have been accused of puposely making their parking spaces narrower in order to squeeze more cars into their lots and make more money. Some of the worst offenders are reported to be certain hospital car parks, some supermarkets and some long-stay airport parking lots. There have been reports, from some long stay airport car parks , of people unable to open their doors due to adjacent vehicles being parked too close.

Is the problem due to the size of parking spaces or is it due to the increasing size of popular vehicles? A common and popular 4 wheel drive vehicle is the Toyota Rav4. This vehicle has a width of 1.815m, without its mirrors. If we allow only 35cm for the size of the wing mirrors this brings the width up to 1.85m. In a parking bay of 2.4m width leaving only 0.55m or 0.275m on either side. This leaves very little space for getting into and out of the vehicle.

Narrow parking spaces present a particular problem for many vehicles that have long side doors, as do many 3 door models. For example, the popular Renault Clio 3 Door has a width, including mirrors, of 2.025m. In a standard 2.4m parking space this would provide only 0.375m or about 0.19m either side for opening the doors and getting into and out of the car.

The only option available to motorists is to plead with car park operators to provide parking bays that are actually big enough for the vehicles that people are driving these days.

Top Tip: Make the most of your trip by spending a night in an airport hotel before your flight. And why not enjoy the hospitality of an airport lounge before you fly.

Pocket PC GPS – Shall I Buy?

August 30th, 2009

There are more types of GPS Navigation units and GPS receiver. Although, many people are looking for pocket PC GPS for GPS navigation. Why?
A PDA or personal digital assistant is a smart combination between a GPS device and a Microsoft software created for PDA, in the so-called PC GPS. Although Palms are considered easier to use, and have more accessories, pocket PC systems have a reputation of superior functionality. The Bluetooth technology, the compact flash, the GPS cabling and the integrated features, all define a Pocket PC GPS in the most rewarding way possible. Each of these elements can influence the efficiency of the whole, and therefore, they deserve separate investigations.

A compact flash is required by the GPS device and it has the inconvenience that within the Pocket PC GPS system, it can consume most of the battery power. Moreover, the GPS compact flash required for PDA usage could make the system a bit clumsier than you’d expect. Bluetooth technology saves a lot from the efficiency of the device, not to mention that cabling is not a problem anymore. A hand-held PDA could be easily linked to the GPS receiver in the backpack. From this perspective, the Pocket PC GPS definitely proves flexible particularly for car usage where the view of the sky is a necessity.

If the Pocket PC GPS does not have a Bluetooth feature, it is pretty expensive to operate the changes and get one. Even so, many people consider the investment worth making. The Pocket PC could also be linked to a car-powered GPS device by cables. Such GPS receivers are classified as mouse-type and they are a lot cheaper than self standing GPS units. Besides the low cost, the system has the advantage of saving battery power. The problem with such a combination of Pocket PC GPS comes from its limitation to in-car usage alone.

For varied GPS usage select a hand-held navigation system receiver that can be cabled with the Pocket PC. This Pocket PC GPS combination proves a good idea for outdoor usage. The PDA will display the maps, but the hand-held GPS receiver can be used separately too. Having two gadgets could be annoying and uncomfortable particularly since they are wired, but unless you can afford a more sophisticated solution, you can very well do with it. Other than this handling difficulty, the Pocket PC with the included GPS device provide both good hardware options, Windows Mobile software and lots of mapping possibilities. This is in fact the Pocket PC GPS unit of the future.

August 29th, 2009

If you own a business that requires delivering goods to your customers, when it comes to buying new transport like vans, you may have to reach deep into your pockets and hope you find enough. Especially during the current global money problems, it is becoming harder to keep your business going.

Well, there is a better way for you to get brand new vans at a smaller price. Van lease is a great way for you or your business to get the latest vehicles to deliver your goods all for a monthly fee.

All you have to do is sign a contract for the van and just pay the monthly fees, and once your contract is over, if you renew it, you can get another brand new van. You can even get some packes that have the vehicle maintenance already sorted, leaving you with one less thing to worry about.

You may be wondering, what’s the catch? But there simply isn’t one. Van leasing is simply a great way to get the latest vans, at reduced cost. Also, because they are the newest models, they are far less likely to break down, giving you peace of mind that you have made the right choice. As well as that, when you buy a new car or van, they can quickly lose all their value, making you lose out when you have to sell them on, but with leasing, you have no troubles with that because once your contract is over, you simply return the van.
